The primary objective is to help our partner hospitals make people their core revenue cycle competency by developing existing talent involved in the revenue cycle process - to do it right, the right way, all the time. The Revenue Cycle University Initiative was specifically designed to provide a common learning and working platform made up of progressive hospitals and health systems that can achieve better results as a community than what can be achieved alone. At the heart of this initiative is a community focused on bringing together the collective expertise, learning assets, process know-how, and performance benchmarking data of hospitals that join the RCU Initiative. All of our members have unlimited access to our RCU platform, a next generation learning and knowledge management software that allows for business process mapping, courseware authoring, and learning deployment and tracking of employee competency.

The Business Process Management lifecycle is broadly divided into two phases: pre-launch and launch, as illustrated by the colors on the illustration. Stages 1 to 4 reflect the creation and deployment of process information, while stages 5 to 7 reflect how this information can actually be used in a dynamic business environment. Business Process Management provides the backbone to sustain business processes and fuel new business initiatives. In summary, adoption drives results and education is core to sustained success. We see RCU’s Business Process Management as a means to a much larger end - optimized revenue cycle processes.
